Dresden

Capital of Saxony

Setting out from Hotel Ross, you can be in Dresden, capital of art and culture, in just over half an hour. The commuter train from Meissen leaves just across the street and runs several times per hour.

The Zwinger, the Semper Opera, the Albertine Residence and countless other historic buildings shape the city centre. The Frauenkirche church, destroyed in the 1945 bombings and left in ruins as a war memorial for many decades, was rebuilt and finally reopened in 2005, attracting international visitors just like the world class museums and art collections Dresden is famous for. The splendid riverside promenades as well as its throbbing nightlife ensure that you will never get bored here.
