  1. Allergies

Your bed is equipped with pillows and blankets suitable for allergy sufferers.

Please inform us of food allergies or intolerances before arrival. We can provide gluten or lactose free breakfast with due notice.

  1. Airport

The closest airport is Dresden International Airport, about 20 - 25 minutes by car from Hotel Ross.

  1. Bike rental

Hotel Ross works with a bike and canoe rental service in the vicinity. Reception will gladly help you arrange for what you need.

  1. Breakfast

Weekdays 7am - 10am and weekends 8am - 11am, you will find a fresh, delicious breakfast buffet waiting for you downstairs in our restaurant. According to several guest reviews, our eggs are just perfect.

  1. Chargers

We have a few of the most common types of charging cables at reception for you to borrow.

  1. Check-in

2pm - 5pm on weekdays, 3pm - 5pm on weekends

Your room will be available at 3pm.

Should you arrive earlier, you are welcome to deposit your luggage with us until your room is ready.

7am - 11am

Your luggage can be held at Hotel Ross until your departure from Meissen.

  1. Children

Children of all ages are welcome at Hotel Ross =)

Children may sleep in the parents’ bed free of charge.

For children aged 0 - 2 years, we can provide a baby cot at the rate of 10 € per stay.

If travelling with an older child, please book a Comfort Double Room and request an extra bed at the rate of 30 € per night, including breakfast.

Please advise at the time of booking how many children you are travelling with, and their ages.

  1. Conference room

Hotel Ross has a spacious conference room at your disposal. We can seat up to 30 guests in the conference room, or up to 60 guests in our restaurant, outside of breakfast hours. Up to date equipment is available. If you are planning on hosting a workshop, meeting or interview during your stay, please let us know ahead of time.

  1. Covid 19

Please note that we currently require a negative Covid test, no older than 24 hours and issued by a certified testing centre, for each guest at check in. If you are fully vaccinated or recently recovered from a Covid infection, please provide documentation accordingly.

  1. Credit cards

We accept VISA, MasterCard, JBC and Diners, but NOT American Express.

  1. English

All our staff understand and speak some basic English, several are fluent. Please don’t be shy, we will be able to assist you.

  1. Fire

Should you notice smoke or a fire during your stay at Hotel Ross, please remain calm and alert reception immediately. There are smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in the designated areas on every floor. Please also familiarize yourself with the safety notices and escape routes posted on the back of your room’s door.

  1. Flowers

Our reception team will be glad to assist you and order a beautiful bouquet at your request.

  1. Group travel

For groups over ten participants, we are happy to offer special arrangements. Please contact us.

  1. Guided tours

One of the receptionists at Hotel Ross is a qualified and experienced tour guide for both the old town of Meissen and Albrechtsburg castle. Please ask for Maria, who speaks English and will gladly set up your own personal tour with you.

Meissen’s tourist office is located at the market square and offers daily guided tours in German, English on request. Our reception staff will be happy to help you find and book a tour.

  1. Hygiene

In accordance with Saxony's regulations regarding the current Covid 19 pandemic, Hotel Ross has introduced some additional measures:

All surfaces in the breakfast restaurant and in the kitchen are wiped and cleaned daily, as usual, and then sterilized, as well as all banisters, door handles, elevator buttons and other frequently touched surfaces.

Staff are required, guests are asked to wear a face mask when moving through the hotel, interacting at reception and around the breakfast buffet. Masks may, of course, be removed once you are seated at your table.

Tables are set and thus seats distributed so that there is at least 1.5m distance between guests not travelling together, or belonging to separate households. Depending on the number of guests present and on development of infection numbers, breakfast may also be served individually at your table, not as a self-service buffet. Serving cutlery is exchanged frequently throughout breakfast times.

Staff and guests are required to wash and sterilize hands frequently, and always when entering the hotel or the breakfast area. Sterilizer is displayed prominently at both spots.

  1. Internet

Free internet access via WLAN / LAN is available throughout Hotel Ross. You will receive your personal access code upon check-in at reception.

  1. Key card

You will be issued a personal key card upon check-in. Please make sure to keep this key card with you when leaving the hotel - you will need it to gain entrance to the hotel, once reception is no longer staffed.

  1. Lost and found

Please come see our reception team about any items you are missing, or have found.

  1. Meissen old town

is situated just across the Elbe river. Stepping outside Hotel Ross and crossing the bridge, you can get lost in the medieval maze of alleyways in less than ten minutes. Please see sights for more information.

  1. MEISSEN® Porcelain Manufactory

The MEISSEN® brand with its crossed blue swords is world renowned. The factory and museum are located on the outskirts of town, about 30 minutes on foot or just a few minutes by taxi.

  1. Parking

Hotel Ross has parking spots available in the backyard, accessible via Ludwig-Richter-Strasse 3. Charges are 2 € per night and car, or 5 € per night and bus.

There is also a public, free Park&Ride lot next to the train station just 100 m away across the street, next to the train station.

  1. Pets

Pets may be brought along to Hotel Ross upon request - please let us know at the time of booking if you are travelling with your dog or other pet, since we can only allow pets in select rooms. We charge an additional fee of 15 € per night due to higher maintenance and cleaning efforts after departure. Dogs are not allowed in our restaurant.

  1. Radio

Various radio channels can be received via the TV in each room.

  1. Reception

Our reception is on site as follows:

Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm
Saturday and Sunday from 8am-4pm

  1. Restaurant

Our restaurant only serves breakfast at the moment.

Should you want to use our location for your party, family gathering or other event, please let us know and we can arrange catering, entertainment and whatever else you may require.

If you are looking for a recommendation or would like to book a table in one of Meissen’s many restaurants, please talk to our reception team. We will be happy to help.

  1. Safe

A 15" safe for your laptop computer and valuables is situated inside the wardrobe in each room. Hotel Ross does not assume liability for items lost or stolen during your stay.

  1. Smoking

Hotel Ross is a non-smoker hotel.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building.

If you do smoke in your room, we will charge an extra fee of 100€ due to necessary additional cleaning.

Smokers may use available ashtrays outside our staff entrance or on the terrace.

  1. Stamps / envelopes

Please ask reception for stamps and envelopes.

  1. Taxi

Reception staff at Hotel Ross will gladly assist you in ordering a taxi. The closest taxi rank is just across the street, outside the train station.

  1. Train station

Situated just across the street (Grossenhainer Strasse) from Hotel Ross. Commuter train to Dresden runs several times per hour.

  1. Umbrellas

We wish you nothing but sunshine for your stay in Meissen. Should you still find yourself in need of an umbrella, reception will gladly lend you one.
